The Cotswolds has some of the most gorgeous wedding venues in the UK.

You are spoiled for choice, with everything from modern hotels to lush manicured gardens – it is no surprise that it's one of the most popular places to get married. Also known for its rolling hills, charming towns, and historic architecture.

So, if you are in the midst of wedding planning, then as a Cotswold wedding photographer, here are my top 7 wedding venues in the Cotswolds, that I know are incredibly stunning for your wedding.

7 Wedding Venues in Cotswolds

  • Ellenborough Park
  • Cripps Barn
  • Lapstone Barn
  • The Bay Tree Hotel
  • Elmore Court
  • Cowley Manor
  • The Barn at Upcote

Ellenborough Park

Ellenborough Park is a stately home wedding venue in the Cotswolds and exudes traditional British elegance. This, combined with the Cotswolds' air of romance and gorgeous scenery, makes it the ideal location for your wedding and of course, your wedding photos.

You can't help but fall in love with this venue the moment you drive down the sweeping driveway. When you walk through the hotel's original 15th-century front door, you will find stylish interiors that blend the venue's history whilst remaining very modern.

Hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, cathedral ceilings, and ornate chandeliers are all details I adore. The grounds provide stunning locations, such as stone paths, a chapel, and manicured lawns.

The venue has a civil ceremony licence and can accommodate up to 140 guests.

Following your celebrations, you will have exclusive access to the manor's 61 distinct bedrooms.

Cripps Barn

With no other buildings in sight, Cripps Barn is an isolated wedding venue in the Cotswolds that has stunning gardens and overlooks the spectacular, rolling Cotswold Hills.

This venue is a family-run business, and if you want a relaxed atmosphere with incredible food and service, this may be the place for you.

You can get married in the barn or in their beautiful woodland glade. The barn is the ideal place to party after the wedding and meal.

There are choices of accommodation nearby the venue for all of your guests however, there is also free camping available in the field next door if camping is your thing!

Cripps Barn is well-known for its whole grilled lambs, sirloin bricks, and butterflied leg of lamb. You can also order rotisserie chicken, suckling pig, or duck. They only use the best ingredients and serve them in bowls on the tables in a feast style.

Lapstone Barn

Lapstone Barn is a traditional 18th-century stone barn that has recently been converted into a stunning wedding venue in the Cotswolds, located on a peaceful hill just 5 minutes from Chipping Campden.

Lapstone can accommodate up to 200 guests for your ceremony, either inside or outside, and up to 200 for a seated wedding breakfast, which is prepared and served by their in-house chefs who can prepare a wedding breakfast tailored to your preferences.

As an exclusive-use venue, every inch of Lapstone Barn's Cotswold beauty is yours for your wedding day.

The Bridal party can use the delightful Hayloft, complete with the Bride's own luxury dressing room, from 10 am to get ready and relax.

Outside the barn, open south-facing lawns and an English courtyard add to the opulence of the place. They also have a back lawn area that is ideal for drinks receptions on hot summer afternoons, as well as croquet and garden games.

In the evenings, they can light the fire pit for you and your guests to relax while taking in the breathtaking views. They have a Log Burner in the bar area for winter weddings and those cooler evenings, perfect for keeping guests warm while they enjoy a delicious cocktail.

The Bay Tree Hotel

The Bay Tree Hotel is a wedding venue in the Cotswolds, located on the River Windrush in the picturesque Cotswold Hills.

This charming 16th-century hotel's cosy, tranquil grounds combine old-world sophistication and modern style to create something truly unique. And, the venue is available for exclusive use so you and your guests can fully immerse yourself in what the venue has to offer.

The romantic Hawthorne Room has a log fireplace and is perfect for a small wedding ceremony and can accommodate up to 12 guests. The light and airy Conservatory is located at the back of the property – this multipurpose room has a flagstone floor and beautiful views of the garden, which is a lovely setting for a ceremony for up to 55 people.

The Hotel's largest indoor wedding space is The Restaurant which can accommodate up to 85 people and has large windows that lead out onto the terrace.

The galleried staircase is located just beyond the Restaurant and is the hotel's oldest section.

The Summer House, nestled among beautifully manicured flower beds, is ideal for outdoor ceremonies for up to 85 guests. In addition, the hotel has 21 individually decorated guest rooms where you and your guests can unwind in comfort at the end of the evening.

Elmore Court

Elmore Court is a wedding venue in the Cotswolds and is unlike many grand historical houses as it was not built for military, religious, or ostentatious purposes. It was designed to be a functional homestead for family use and entertaining guests.

The main house has four stunning ceremony and reception areas, the most important of which is the Hall – the heart of the house and an ideal location for a ceremony for up to 150 seated and 50 standing guests.

The other three licenced ceremony areas are the Drawing Room, the Morning Room, and The Porch (the front steps of the house, which can be used for an outdoor ceremony).

Elmore's operations are built on an environmentally sustainable ethos built with estate earth and wood, and a newly installed Biomass boiler which heats the house with estate wood.

The in-house catering service is exceptional, with food sourced locally as well as from the kitchen garden.

There are 16 beautiful bedrooms, each with its own distinct personality. The oak-panelled Master Suite has a Caesar size bed, en-suite facilities, and an attached double bedroom that can also be used as a bridal dressing room. The Oak Room, with its 350-year-old 4-poster bed and freestanding copper bath, is one of the other rooms.

Cowley Manor

Cowley Manor is a funky country house wedding venue in the Cotswolds and is the ideal location for your exclusive use wedding.

If you are a couple who have an eye for design and you are looking for a luxurious experience that is unique and tailored exclusively to you then this place is lovely as it combines chic decor and period features.

The main Manor is bright and airy and there is something to delight at every turn, from the purple baize of the billiard table to the stunning globe pendants in the grand restaurant. It not only provides a modern and stylish place to host your wedding but looks incredible and has beautiful lighting for your wedding photos.

You have exclusive use which includes 30 bedrooms as well as all pre-arranged food and beverages. The bedrooms are all large, with some spread across two or three levels and some featuring balconies or terraces.

The Barn at Upcote

The Barn at Upcote is a stunning wedding venue in the Cotswolds, near Cheltenham.

Their Cotswold barns are arranged around a courtyard and provide an intimate setting for both small and large weddings. Each barn has been restored with attention to detail and consideration for the past, while also providing all of the modern conveniences.

All of the essential spaces you need for your day are located within the courtyard upon your arrival, surrounded by spectacular views. Many locations around the venue and in the surrounding farmland provide incredible backdrops for your wedding photos.

You can hold your ceremony and reception in one of the barns, which all have tasteful design elements like exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and plenty of natural light.

You have the freedom to decorate the event areas, ensuring that your wedding looks exactly as you envision. The venue can comfortably accommodate up to 100 guests during the day and up to 150 guests in the evening, depending on your preferred seating and layout plan.

In the evening, there are also areas for your DJ or band, as well as plenty of space to dance the night away. This place simply offers it all for a fun and romantic happily ever after.
